Coach Grant Hoffman

Women’s Head Coach

Grant started rowing as a junior for Rockford in 2015. After graduating, he continued to stay involved with the team, helping with the Middle School program while going to school. As a rower, he went from struggling to go one day without flipping his single to racing it at the Canadian Henley. He hopes to instill the same kind of perseverance in his rowers that will make them successful in competition as well as in life.  He also earned medals at the State Championship. He began coaching the novice men in the spring of 2018 and became the women’s head coach in 2021.

 Coach Tucker Anderson

Men’s Head Coach

Tucker started rowing as a freshmen at Rockford in the fall of 2004. Where after finishing his freshmen year at the bottom of the team, he soon wanted more.  After growing mentally and physically over the next 3 years, he decided to continue rowing Grand Valley State University. Where in addition to earning a degree, he was able to train and compete at a high level. Competing in regattas across the country and internationally including Head of the Charles, The Dad Vail Regatta, and the Henley Royal Regatta in Henley, UK. He also served on the Grand Valley Rowing Board as the Treasurer. Tucker has helped out in the Spring season with the JV and novice teams since 2013.

Gioia Arcidiacono

Middle School Coach

Gioia began rowing at Rockford in the fall of 2016 in seventh grade. They helped with learn-to-row and middle school programs while still a student, and began coaching the middle school team. Gioia is looking forward to continuing to teach young rowers this spring.


Coach Jeff Garant

Assistant Coach

Jeff was introduced to rowing in 1988, rowed 4 years for Gibraltar Carlson from 1989-1992. This was when erg pieces were 2500 meters and most of our boats were wood. You can actually see one of the boats I rowed in hanging in TGIF in Ann Arbor. ( The Pete Tank)

In 2008, Jeff joined the Indianapolis Rowing Club Masters Team and competed nationally during spring and fall seasons until 2010. In 2015, Jeff moved back to Michigan and was a volunteer coach for Forest Hills Northern during their 2016 and 2017 seasons.  In 2017, Jeff moved to Rockford Michigan and joined the Rockford Rowing Team as an assistant coach.
